Taiwan Love You, JEREMY LIN
Rockets @ OKC Game #1 Western Conference Playoffs Pre-game Thread
First off, I'm happy just to be in the playoffs. I always see the glass half full and predicted 50 wins this season. Most here, as well as all the so called experts (except Ed Weiland, predicted 50 wins I believe) guessed in the 30's if not lower.
No one is giving the Houston a chance in this series and that seems to make good basketball sense, just like the Rockets winning 30 games this season. However, there is one caveat, Jeremy Lin. If Jeremy is as good as I said and believe he is, this series should be competitive. Winning it against the best team in the West is another story. Even Michael Jordan lost in the 1st round his first 3 years in the playoffs.
I'd also like to add my 2 cents on Mchales coaching. I don't think most of you realize, but every single coach (Smart, Mark Jackson, Da'Antoni before all the injuries) that Jeremy has had in the NBA looked at him the same or worse than Mchale does. My guess is that there are maybe 2-3 (10% of all coaches) in the entire league that would treat Jeremy any better. I know that it's hard for most of us to believe but that is just the way it is. It is not because they are blatant racists, or hate him. They just see him as a nice young point guard who has many holes. Just like what Bill Simmons said on ESPN.
Lastly, lets put this in perspective so we can enjoy these moments even more. Jeremy is gonna be the starting point guard getting invaluable playoff experience going against one of the NBA's best. The Rockets are huge underdogs with no expectations. You can look at this as the glass half empty and a Mcfail team about to get swept, or how about the glass half full? The least experienced team ever to make it to the NBA playoffs coming out playing free and easy and ready to make this a series.
